My key fob recently stopped working. I replaced the battery, which seemed to fix the issue, even though the old battery still had some charge. This makes me wonder if the key fob is faulty or if it's just experiencing temporary glitches.

Has anyone else encountered similar problems with their key fob?

Did you swap the battery and the issue has gone? Then the battery was the cause.

Previous key fobs were known to drain batteries quickly due to constant signal transmission. However, later models addressed this issue by only transmitting signals while in motion. I would recommend contacting your local dealership to see if a warranty repair is possible.

Key fob quirks aren’t uncommon, I had something similar happen with a new EV. Sometimes, a fob needs to be re-synced to the car after a battery replacement.
