I recently got a warning on my Lotus Eletre saying that one of the tire pressure detection sensors has failed. The system suggests contacting the service center, but I’m wondering if this might just be a temporary glitch that could reset itself.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with their Eletre? Did it require a service appointment to resolve, or did it clear up on its own after some time?

Tire pressure sensors can be finicky, especially on a performance SUV like the Eletre. If you’ve recently rotated the tires or changed pressures, it might take a little time for the system to recalibrate. That said, if it’s been persistent and won’t clear on its own, it’s likely a faulty sensor. I had one go bad on my previous car, and a service center visit was the only way to sort it, they’ll run diagnostics and replace the sensor under warranty. No harm in calling ahead to confirm before making the trip. Better safe than sorry with something tire-related!

Sometimes the sensors in my old car would stop working. I think it was because of interference.

restarting the car's system might fix it but usually it's a problem with the sensor itself. If the warning doesn't go away after driving a few times you should take it to the service center. They can figure out if it's the sensor a wire problem or something else. Ignoring it could mean you don't know your tire pressure, which is dangerous.
