I’ve been having some weird charging issues with my EV. Went on a long trip yesterday and and by the time I hit my third fast charge, the speed dropped to like 25-30kW and wouldn’t budge after the initial burst. I tried restarting the charge, but nope, still the same. Is this a thing, like rapidgate or something? I’ve heard there might be a limit of two fast charges per day, but I’m not sure if that’s legit. Anyone else hit this snag? Or am I just driving my car too hard?

I tried fast charging my car at 300 kW a few times, and it worked. But it eventually stopped working as quickly. I tried a different charger and it did the same thing.

Public chargers don't always charge as fast as they say. There are a lot of things that can slow them down. The car also manages the charging to protect the battery. Don't assume there's a problem with the car.

It's important to understand the difference between load balancing at the charging station and load balancing on the power grid. They're two separate things.

It could be a battery safety feature activating. Some electricc vehicles reduce charging speeds to safeguard the battery after several fast charges in a short time. This might be a precaution to avoid overheating or excessive wear. It's definitely not unusual.
