My used Eletre uses battery power to heat up even when it's plugged in. I can't find a way to change that. Hopefully, they'll fix it in a future update.

My previous EV used battery power for heating even when plugged in. When I could, I had to manually change the settings, which was super annoying. I am also hopeful that a software update would fix it..

Does it even matter? If the battery’s under load while charging, it should just sort itself out and stay topped up, right? Honestly, it seems like managing the charging this way might be simpler and probably more efficient than just having a constant direct feed from the charger.

This is pretty common in new cars, they draw some power from the charger to heat the cabin, while the battery gets recharged as needed.

But with the Eletre, it seems like the battery isn’t being topped up while the HVAC is running. The charge port stops drawing power from the mains. Not sure if there’s a workaround for that.

You're right, that doesn't seem right. The charge should keep going, especially if the battery is under load. But that doesn’t mean powering the HVAC directly from the mains, just ensuring there’s enough charge

Sounds like a software glitch or some strange setting overlooked. It's a common issue with early EV models especially from newer brands they're still ironing out the kinks.

Hopefully, they'll push an update to fix it because draining the battery when you're supposed to be charging is just plain wrong.

In the meantime, you might want to try playing around with the climate control settings, maybe there's a "pre-conditioning" or "battery saver" mode hidden in there somewhere. But yeah, ultimately, it's something they need to address with a software update.
